1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how RiseUp ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the RiseUp mobile application (the "App"). RiseUp is an alarm clock application that requires users to complete real-world challenges to dismiss alarms.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

2.3 Camera Data

RiseUp uses your device camera solely for the Object Scanning challenge feature. When you use this feature:

  • Camera access is requested only when you select an Object Scanning challenge.
  • Images captured during the scanning process are analyzed on-device to verify the scanned object.
  • Images are NOT stored, uploaded to our servers, or shared with any third party.
  • Camera processing occurs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning.
  • You may revoke camera access at any time through your device Settings without affecting other App functionality.

2.4 Notification Data

RiseUp requires notification permissions to deliver alarms at your scheduled times. Notification permissions are used exclusively for alarm delivery and optional morning routine reminders. We do not use push notifications for marketing or promotional purposes.

2.5 Motion and Sensor Data

If you select shake-based or step-based challenges, the App accesses your device’s accelerometer and motion sensors. This data is processed entirely on-device and is not transmitted to our servers.

  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We may use third-party analytics services (such as Firebase Analytics) to understand App usage patterns. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and process data on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
